The State of Mobile HTML5

Tomomi Imura gives her opinions on the current state of HTML5 on mobile. Yes, HTML5 is constantly evolving, and more features are constantly created and implemented, but are all these shiny new features ready for mobile? Well, as Tomomi discusses, it might depend on whether you view the glass as half empty or half full.

At Forward JS, Tomomi revisits a talk she's given once before, to ask the question, how have browsers improved in the last year? She showcases the capabilities of the web platform, and some real-life use cases of HTML5 on mobile, by writing an app using W3C HTML5 standards and JavaScript. She also demos some relevant open source projects.

HTML5 still has a ways to go, but Tomomi, a self-proclaimed “mobile geek,” believes we're headed in the right direction.
